Cast Iron Effect Guttering Buying Guide

Cast Iron Effect guttering gives the authentic look of traditional cast iron in lightweight, maintenance-free uPVC — ideal for period and conservation properties without the weight, rust or repainting.

Key specifications

Profiles Half Round & Krown Ogee cast iron effect
Finish Cast iron effect (matt black)
Downpipe 68mm round
Flow capacity as per the underlying profile
Bracket spacing 800–1000mm

Best suited to

  • Period, listed-adjacent and conservation-area properties
  • Homeowners wanting the cast iron look without the maintenance
  • Replacing failing traditional cast iron

Fitting notes

Fits like standard uPVC half round or ogee — brackets at 800–1000mm centres. No painting or rust treatment is needed over the system's life.

Fix an extra bracket within 150mm of every union, angle, running outlet and stop end, and lay the gutter to a slight fall of about 3mm per metre (1:350) towards the outlet. Leave the manufacturer's 6–10mm expansion gap at union joints, and space downpipe clips no more than 1.8m apart with support near the top and bottom of the run.

Colours

Cast iron effect (matt black finish).

Compatibility

Available in half round and Krown ogee cast iron effect. Match parts within the same cast iron effect system; treat Krown cast iron effect as Aquaflow-specific.

Always confirm the profile before mixing parts — see the gutter compatibility guide.
